Alicia Keys has quite the pianistic repertoire. She's one of the most sought after artists in pop music with credits on seventeen albums, twenty two singles, and four collaborations. This includes her most recent release "Unthinkable" with Kendrick Lamar. Alicia has also won Grammys for both Record of the Year and Song of the Year (with John Legend) as well as eight other Grammy's to date. She was also awarded Woman of the Year by Harvard University's Hasty Pudding Theatricals. Alicia has performed with artists like Jay Z, Kanye West, Bono (U2), Beyoncé, Maroon 5, Christina Aguilera, and John Mayer. Her work also includes the creation of two documentaries including "The Future is Now" for MTV and VH1's Save the Music Foundation. She is also a UNICEF Ambassador and was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the Presidential Committee on Arts and Humanities under John Podesta.Alicia Keys took piano lessons from age seven until age fifteen after asking her mother for piano lessons. Her mother believed that it would help her read and write. She has said on several occasions that she enjoys playing piano and creating music with the instrument. She is classically trained on the instrument and is able to play both by ear and reading sheet music. Alicia can also play guitar, bass, drums, and percussion on a basic level as well as some guitar solos. Keys has said that listening to classical music was a large inspiration for her early work, especially Bach's work "The Well-Tempered Clavier." In an interview with Wendy Williams she stated that her favorite song is Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. She also stated that it is her goal to play the piece on piano.
